Ridgewood Gymnastics

NEWS & EVENTS

March 19, 2020

Dear Ridgewood Families,

Per Governor, Greg Abbott’s latest statement on expanding the statewide shutdown, we regret that Ridgewood Gymnastics will remain closed until further notice.  There is still limited information on when we will re-open, the last we heard it could be anywhere from 4-8 weeks.

In consideration of these unique circumstances the Dallas Park and Recreation department has identified how participation fees for the month of March will be processed.  Effective immediately, everyone actively enrolled for March will have the option to receive a prorated refund or have a prorated credit placed on their family account.  Proration will be calculated based on the number of classes scheduled versus the number of classes conducted, i.e. if the class fee was $100 a month and was scheduled to meet 10 times during the month, its average would be $10 per class.  If the class only met 4 times, the class fee would be $40 and the applied prorated class fee would be $60.  Credits will be valid for one year from the date they are issued. Selections must be made by Wednesday, March 25, 2020.

Moving forward all auto-payment accounts have been suspended until further notice.  This will be a trying time for all of us who will be hit hard financially and emotionally, so please continue to send positivity to those who need it.  We know it is a lot to ask, but should you feel compelled to decline either option of a refund or credit for March, we would be most grateful.

As a small business ourselves, please consider remaining enrolled during this time, knowing that your child’s current spot in class or on team will be held and no tuition will not be charged.  It will be difficult to open our doors once this is all over without the continued support of every family. Our priority is to continue to provide a safe space for all of our gymnasts to grow, and to continue to employ the incredible staff we are lucky to have at Ridgewood.

Hug your little ones for all of us (or give them an elbow bump).  Coaching is our passion, so it is heartbreaking to have that taken away from us.  We adore working with your kids and being a part of their lives – we will miss them dearly during this time.

Sincerely,

Ridgewood Gymnastics, Coaches & Staff

Ridgewood Gymnastics Families:

To reduce the community spread of COVID-19, effective Saturday, March 14, 2020, Dallas Park and Recreation Centers and facilities will be closed, and all Department organized programs are suspended until further notice.

Because our primary concern is the health and safety of our families and staff and considering recent coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns, we wanted to let you know that we will be increasing our cleaning and disinfecting procedure prior to re-opening.  We are in contact with the City of Dallas management and will follow any recommendations they set in the coming days and weeks.

We feel that gymnastics not only aids in flexibility, strength, coordination and discipline, but also disease prevention.  Because gymnastics helps promote a healthy body, adding it to your routine can help ward off a range of diseases.  Experts say that this includes heart disease, cancer, obesity and diabetes.  A regular and consistent routine is the best way to reap the rewards that gymnastics has to offer.

Below are a few steps we will be taking and asking everyone to follow while at Ridgewood Gymnastics and your surrounding community.

What we are doing:

  • Deep cleaning and sanitizing during the week of Spring Break
  • Clean and sanitize mats and equipment several times daily
  • Staff members will take personal sanitary precautions between classes
  • An increase in disinfection of all gym equipment each night
  • Cease handshaking and high-five
  • Hand sanitizer will continue to be placed throughout the Recreation Center for the use of staff and customers

In addition to the precautions we are taking, we ask that our customers continue to be vigilant in following the CDC recommended protocol to prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses.

  • Wash hands often with soap and water for a minimum 20 seconds
  • Use hand sanitizer with a minimum 60% alcohol when soap and water are not available
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes
  • Clean and disinfect all touched surfaces frequently
  • Stay home if you are feeling sick or have sick family members at home (make-up credits will be gladly given to all students who miss classes)

When we receive additional information or policy changes from the City of Dallas, we will share that with you as soon as we receive it.  We hope that these procedures will help you feel comfortable at Ridgewood Gymnastics and look forward to seeing your children in the gym.

Thank You,

Ridgewood Gymnastics Coaches & Staff
